She is a frequent traveler from her home state of Ohio to the beautiful country of Panama. She and her husband plan to reside in Panama after retirement. Like many other hopeful Black expats, understanding how to access health care in another country is a priority.

After returning from Panama in February 2024, Alicia decided to explore whether there is value in creating a guide for expats, specifically Black expats currently living in or considering a move to Latin America. ​

The guide being developed will provide accurate and reliable information to help expats understand and navigate health care systems and services in Panama, ensuring they have the support they need in both routine and emergency situations.
